Decades of still ongoing research has consistently shown that increasing strength through resistance training is safe and beneficial for individuals of all ages.
Despite this accumulated knowledge, resistance training is significantly underutilized in the US, according to the Department of Health and Human Services. Only ~20% of adults and ~30% of adolescents meet the national recommendations of 2-3 times per week for muscle-strengthening activities.
Research has shown that obstacles to this include safety fears, misinformation, lack of accessibility to appropriate exercise equipment (dumbbells, barbells, machines) and/or or reluctance to attend commercial workout locations (Gyms, Fitness Centers).
Sláinte addresses many of these obstacles by providing a home-based program that is safe, educational, and easy to use. Importantly, our program also has measurable outcomes of success.
