Where it all began

It all began with Mike Rooney’s vision of making evidence-based fitness accessible to everyone, regardless of age or ability. The name “Sláinte” – a Gaelic toast to good health –  representing the extension of wellness throughout one’s life. After years of research and development, Mike and his team recognized that traditional fitness approaches were leaving entire populations behind. People with chronic conditions, those without gym access, and individuals across the age spectrum from adolescents to seniors all needed safe, supervised exercise solutions that could meet them where they are.

It all began with Mike Rooney’s vision of making evidence-based fitness accessible to everyone, regardless of age or ability. They started by developing resistance band training protocols backed by Johns Hopkins Medical recommendations – the safest form of resistance training available.

 

The goal of the program was to help individuals maintain strength, mobility, and confidence through accessible exercise that could be delivered anywhere. These efforts have resulted in evidence-based protocols ready for implementation across diverse populations.

 

Through rigorous testing and clinical validation, Sláinte Health Solutions has developed a comprehensive approach to resistance training that serves individuals from age 12 to 100. The program eliminates barriers like transportation, cost, and intimidation while providing the accountability and progression needed for lasting health improvements.

 

Sláinte Health Solutions is now ready to partner with healthcare organizations to implement these life-changing programs across communities, making preventive fitness a cornerstone of healthcare rather than a luxury.
